Join the #100United Project!

Arts Help is pleased to announce its newly founded #100United project. This project will be released to help create a platform in which artists can write about stories from their local communities. The aim of #100United is to capture stories from a vantage point that captivates, empowers, and inspires revitalization using the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. 100 writers/artists will be proudly selected by Arts Help to represent their communities from countries around the globe.

Arts Help aims to ignite and facilitate a transformative space for artists and collaborators everywhere. In this way, artists can inaugurate and bring forth the change they envision. This project will exemplify authentic and invaluable insights, experiences and personal stories from communities around the Globe, and aims to address two questions:

  1. How is art making a positive change in your local community?

You may explore different initiatives such as exhibits, artistic innovation, activists, campaigns that have been implemented for one of many of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

2.   How can art make a positive change in your local community?

Identify current challenge(s) from the 17 Sustainable Development Goals within your local community specifically impacting you, your family, community, and write about how art solutions can make an impact. You may reference a specific solution implemented around the globe.

We are currently seeking representation from countries around the world - we are looking for artists and writers that exemplify social change through art, and are rooted in the UN SDGs. Humanity is at a pivotal point of transformation, and we are now being challenged to tackle all of the global issues that challenge us today. We will find solutions by uniting globally. Together, we can advocate for a more equitable planet, and a more just society. In this way, socially engaged art serves as a catalyst for humanity to heal.

Art is more than just placing pen to paper... it is a manifestation -- a vision which fruitions to life in us, and through us. Art sparks the light of compassion and consciousness, which leads to action. Art motivates us to reflect, engage and ascribe newly founded meaning to our existence and our experiences. Cathartic art transforms individuals, and consequently,  envisions and cultivates communities to grow into their true potential. Community empowerment is essential for the inter-dependent flourishment of our planet as a whole. Through strengthening our relationships with communities everywhere, we are better prepared to tackle the prevalent fundamental Global issues which we still continue to face today, and that the UN SDGs address. As Gandhi states, it is in this way that each of us are reminded that In a gentle way, you can shake the world. Together, we stand united.
